Ofoto called "Site of the Week" by Communication Arts. Feature article about 3.0 site redesign project I led:
    "User testing has shown higher customer satisfaction. Page view traffic has increased. Conversion to print orders has shown a positive increase. Photo sharing is friendlier, and that’s good for business and helps sell more prints."

Managed the User Experience team. Championed the site and users while supporting business needs. Focused on both overall site as well as specific task and channel conversion (SEM, DM, etc.). Key member of strategic leadership team formed to increase revenue.

Product Manager and User Experience Designer: April 2005 - October 2005
Led Search and Marketplace project to launch a new tag system, search engine, and supporting site interfaces. Author of PRDs, functional specs, PowerPoint presentations, launch plans, user flows, wireframes and mock ups. Launched September 2005.

Product Designer & Information Architect: January 2004 - April 2005
Project lead and UI designer for a highly successful service focused on providing a way to easily create and buy customized products. Handled research, site architecture, interface design and product categorization. Launched May 2004. http://www.cafepress.com/cp/customize/

Co-leader of extensive user research project. Included gathering direct and indirect data from 9 sources; analyzing and consolidating results; and presenting prioritized recommendations to the executive team. Design explorations for the next generation of Marketplace and Shopkeeper tools.

Managed production and user experience group. Responsible for UI and web design (including standards); functional specifications; project management; and usability research and analysis. Owned the site release calendar and provided final sign off on all site releases. Authored product requirement documents and roadmaps.

Responding to market research and customer feedback, led team to launch 3.0 version of site which lifted revenue and customer satisfaction. Integral member of team to create and launch 30-minute holiday infomercial. Worked as part of Partner Services team to launch cobranded sites for Amazon.com, Excite, Intel GatherRound, NBCi, and the Knot.

Worked daily with almost all other departments of the company. Member of Ofoto Leadership and post-acquisition transition teams.

when.com, an America Online Company | Executive Producer

Managed production and web development team for online calendar and event directory. Daily responsibilities included building pages in html, writing specifications, creating page mock ups, and file management. Developed and managed the site release schedule and process - an ongoing balance between business/partner needs and maintaining a stable, world-class service as part of AOL. Participated in new feature definition.

Core team member to launch cobranded versions of the service for AOL, Netscape, and CompuServe. Contact for AOL properties and partners during and after cobrand launches. Key collaborator on cobrand process and new feature definition.

February 1997 to May 1998 | Screenshots

Managed team to produce and integrate new technical features (including message boards, chat, and searching/matching tools) and content into a community oriented and intensively database-driven Web site. Involved coordination with all other departments of the company working especially close with the design and engineering teams to keep projects on schedule and ensure high quality standards for the site.

Developed and maintained site standards, publishing process and schedule. Managed internal QA of site to guarantee both superior performance and a positive user experience.

Worked daily with Vignette's StoryServer to build pages (merging HTML, tcl with embedded SQL, and design elements) and manage content.

Global Network Navigator, An AOL Company | Assistant Production Manager
October 1995 to December 1996 | Screenshots

Assistant manager for nine person production department. Coordinated weekly content uploads, developed and maintained content on a daily basis, managed graphic requests.

Graphic and page designer for GNN and for web sites GNN produced. Member of GNN Home Page design team. Conceptualized, designed and produced weekly changing graphics. Chief designer for advertising products.

Produced weekly advertising on GNN and WebCrawler. Worked with ad traffic team to develop and streamline the ad placement process. Acted as a design consultant for third-party advertisers.

Redgate Communications, An AOL Company | Project Administrator: New Media Products
January 1994 to October 1995

Assistant manager of the MegaWeb Internet Directory project. Included category scheme, style guide and process development; copywriting and editing; and database and account administration.

Supported Novell, Sun Microsystems, and Oracle accounts. Entailed project team training and management, database and account administration, assisting in publication production including proofreading, layout design, copywriting and editing.

Utilized knowledge of content aggregation projects and the 4D database by offering consultation and onsite training for projects such as Downtown AOL.
